There are so many novels out there that all seem to tell the same story or romance or conflict and fall so short because of underdeveloped characters. The book of Iudex is so compelling because the author really takes you deep into not only the main character, but her supporting cast and the worlds and feelings that drive their interaction. The story is so original and heartfelt, you really get sucked in! You can see the colors and feel the textures and hear the sounds the author illustrates in the story. I especially liked that I could not predict the story, that’s what makes this book so engaging. I hate when it feels like at a point the author gets lazy and the storyline becomes easy to predict and takes the magic out of the experience. I am so incredibly impatiently waiting for the next book to come out! This is such a good read, don’t hesitate, get the book and get ready to be anxiously awaiting the rest of the series!

Wow! I can't even begin to imagine the amount of time that went into creating this other world that is this book. It's vivid and fascinating. Tachina Eva did an outstanding job at painting every detail of this world and it's characters, nothing goes unnoticed. It helps to build the story line and build the world in your head. This book is also unlike anything I've read before. It's incredibly unique and I can't wait for the rest!
The Book of Iudex is a wonderful introduction into the world of Tekra. The worldbuilding and character development are amazing. I feel like I’m actually in the world and with the characters. The book only has a small cliffhanger that keeps you yearning for more but wraps up major points that are a part of this book. The plot was a bit slow, but branches into something marvelous as I frantically read page after page to find out what happens next. I can’t wait for book 2 in this series to see what happens next for Rose!
The audio book on audible was amazing! I started with the book and brought it with me on my trip to LA. I was getting car sick from reading during the ride down so my friend played it for me on audible through the car speakers. The narrator gave so much life to the characters and really helped to immerse you in the story. Her voice was very soothing with great character dynamics. The story had a unique premise that was unlike others in the same genre. I highly recommend you listen to this book.
The Book of Iudex is a very unique urban fantasy which takes you to another world as the heroine is chosen to replace a deceased ruler. She is found by her long lost childhood friend and taken on a rollercoaster ride as she learns the truth of her new world and the role she is supposed to play. I was very interested in the story and the relationships. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars was because at a certain point I felt like I was being told the same thing over and over again. I don't want to risk spoilers, so I will just say it deals with the not so subtle romantic relationship that builds throughout the story. Otherwise, a very fun and compelling read!

Tachina, you have a wonderful imagination. This was a fun read and I can't wait for book 2 hopefully coming soon!
I was hooked from the first chapter. Tachina pulls in her readers straight away with compelling imagery and interesting characters with high stakes. It’s easy to relate to Rose, as you read you can truly feel her conflict and confusion as she struggles to understand the world and new situation she’s found herself in.

With a unique storyline and carefully crafted prose, this is definitely a must-read.
