I read this book only because I live in the small village in which much of it is set. Most of the local color is absolutely accurate. The book desperately needed a better copy reader and editor. There were grammatical errors and many awkwardly written sentences. While the small towns in the area are well portrayed, the geography was off. Nobody bothered to consult a map.
The story was interesting, though sure not enough to keep you glued to the book. There is an interesting back story about the Canadian oilfields north of where I live which adds interest if you have concerns about the XL pipeline. My husband is reading the book now and enjoying it a lot; however he never notices the editing problems that bother me so much.
